Unc0ver Jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 Updated to Add Partial Support for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and 2018 iPad Pro
The @pwn20wnd team today dropped a new beta release of Unc0ver 3.0 which adds partial support for A12-A12X Bionic devices like the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pro.
The release comes within days of the team adding support for 4K devices like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s to Unc0ver.
The partial support means that while you can use the latest version of Unc0ver to jailbreak your iPhone XS or iPhone XR, you can’t do anything else. There’s no Cydia support for now so you won’t be able to install jailbreak tweaks, though yes, jailbreaking will lead to updates being blocked and you will gain the ability to remount the root filesystem as RW.
There’s no word yet as to when Saurik will add iPhone XS and iPhone XR support to Cydia.
Below is the full change-log of the release:
Enable partial (Export/Un-Export Kernel Task Port, Set HSP4 as TFP0, Dump APTicket, Overwrite Boot Nonce, Log Slide, Log ECID, Disable Auto Updates, Remount RootFS, Disable App Revokes, Restore RootFS) iOS 12.0 – 12.1.2 support for A12-A12X devices
Update the APT lists cache file for repositories
Fix the voucher_swap exploit for the beta firmwares on A12-A12X
Update the APT lists cache file for repositories.
Most iPhone XS owners running iOS 12.1.1 b3 are reporting that their device ends up rebooting during the jailbreak process. If you are in the same boat, make sure to put your iPhone in airplane mode before starting the jailbreak process. Plus, double check to make sure that no OTA file is saved on your iPhone as that could lead to your device entering into a reboot or respring loop. Also Read:Windows 10 File Sharing Methods You Should Know
